This Year I am Giving Away 100 Bouquets of Flower

Why Give So Many Flowers?

Have you ever felt called to do something? Almost like it was out of your control, another force was pushing you on. Something that is deep in your soul that you might just burst if you don’t do. In the gloomy winter months I am feeling this. This year, I want to give, build relationships, and just bring joy to my community. Flowers are also the best gift, they are not going to junk up anyone’s home, you don’t have to worry about dietary needs/ preferences, and I don’t know anyone who hates flowers.

This year, I am giving away 100 bouquets from my garden. Below are some flowers I have given away in previous years.

Who Am I Giving Flowers Too?

The thing about flowers is they don’t travel well, and are meant to be enjoyed in the moment. I live far from any family, so it will push me to give to my neighbors, schools, senior centers, business, and any random person.

When Am I Planning To Give Away So Many Flowers?

Summer of 2025. I have plans to grow some sweet peas for some early flowers, but not much. I want to be able to grow a lot of flowers at once instead of spreading the harvest throughout the summer, so most of the flowers will be coming in July- September. Once a week I’ll cut all the flowers I have, make bouquets, and give them away!

How Am I Going to Do This?

Great question! I don’t know exactly yet, but I do have a 2ft x 50ft bed and six 3ft x 20 ft rows to grow the flowers. Below is a picture of my layout.

What Type of Flowers Are You Going to Give?

The best question yet! Here is my grow list this year, because I am giving these flowers I picked flowers that I wanted to grow and ones that are different and I think everyone will like. My seed list this year are

Ballerina Zinnias

Afternoon White Cosmos

Flamingo Feather Celosia

Seeker Rose Shades Statice

Silvery Rose Strawflower

QIS Formula Mix Gomphrena

King Sized Apricot China Asters

Sweet Peas

Basil

This year I got all my seeds from Johnny’s Selected Seeds this year. I also plan to add a few more zinnias seeds I already have on hand for some color variety. I hope you will join me for this journey and you will feel the joy of flowers while also wanting to give more with others.

So here is my garden this year as I am dreaming of warm weather, flowers, and an abundance to give. Let’s Dream until Summer.
