Dried Flowers
Yarrow-Yarrow brings both structure and durability to cut flower arrangements. With its flat-topped clusters in yellow, white, pink, or red, yarrow is a staple for rustic or wildflower-style bouquets. It also works great as a dried flower for flowers all year long. Yarrow is also a perenial, meaning it will come back every year, making it an extremely easy flower to grow!
Lavender- Lavender is an important mix to this dried flower garden. Not only will it give your arrangements height and color, but it will give it a beautiful smell. Lavender is also so versatile. It is medicinal, beautiful, and smells good. You will love having lavender in your garden.
Baby’s Breath- This classic flower is used in almost every arrangement for a reason. Not only does it have an extremely long vase life, if you dry it will last for years. These little white flowers will make your arrangements look full and beautiful.
Statice- I loved growing this flower because I was able to grow it from seed so easily! I survived my extreme neglect and I was still able to get a great harvest. Don’t be fooled by the common purple statice, this flower comes in arrange of different colors if you are willing to grow it from purchased seeds. The dried flowers keep their bright color and have easy long stems. This plant also drought and heat tolerant.
Celosia- Also a great heat and drought tolerant plant. Celosia has so many colors and fun shapes. I personally like the Flamingo Feather from Johnny Select Seeds. Other celosia plants have a fun wave shape. They are the perfect boho style plant.
Gomphrena- These ball looking flowers are so fun and cute. They keep their color when dried, and easy to grow. I did a pink, purple, and white mix and really love them. They also grew very easily from seed.
